Stephanie Janes is the Senior Communications Manager for the Celebrity Series of Boston, a non-profit presenting arts organization that brings the best in the performing arts to Boston and engages young audiences in artistic experiences through performing arts-based education and community service programs. In her role, she communicates directly with the press and is responsible for having the broadest possible media coverage for over 50 performances each season, including performances by Yo-Yo Ma, Renée Fleming, Joshua Bell, Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, David Sedaris, as well as institutional press releases. She also manages the social media and email communications for the organization, communicating with subscribers, single-ticket buyers and students.

In addition to her work at the Celebrity Series of Boston, Ms. Janes is also the founder, Executive Director and President of the Miss Boston Scholarship Organization, a local non-profit preliminary for the Miss America Pageant. The Miss America Organization awards over $45 million in academic scholarships annually to women who compete at the local, state and national levels.

Ms. Janes was previously the Content and Marketing Manager for ArtsBoston, a local arts service organization dedicated to promoting and strengthening Greater Boston’s cultural community, including more than 170 performing and visual arts groups.  She oversaw site content management, conducted media research and program budgeting, and managed media buying. She also supervised a team of interns and directed the creation of the BosTix.org quarterly publications.

Prior to joining ArtsBoston, Ms. Janes worked as a Marketing Analyst for Drexel University Online and as a freelance public relations and marketing associate. She also worked with Opera Delaware as a soprano and assisted the Director of External Affairs, providing support for marketing, promotional, and outreach efforts.

She also enjoys singing with the Tanglewood Festival Chorus and teaching Spinning at the Boston Athletic Club.  Ms. Janes holds a B.M. in Vocal Performance from the University of Delaware, an M.S. in Arts Administration from Drexel University, and a Certificate in Leadership from UMass Boston. She is a member of the Boston Arts Marketing Alliance.
