OneWorld Classrooms welcomes you to join an Artist/Teaching Artist Info Session on Monday, January 27 from 4:30 – 6:00 PM. The info session will take place in the Board Room of the City Year Headquarters at 287 Columbus Ave in Boston. Snacks and drinks will be served.
OneWorld Classrooms is a Boston/Andover-based nonprofit that connects local and global K-12 students through the arts and technology to prepare young people for local and global citizenship in culturally diverse settings. In 2013, we launched Boston 140, an exhibition of 120 pieces of K-12 student art from Greater Boston and 38 countries. We conduct Boston 140-based residencies at regional schools and after school programs and run a yearly K-12 Global Art Exchange.
OneWorld Classrooms is currently developing a small roster of teaching artists to work on Boston 140-based school and after school residencies during the 2014/2015 school year. For these positions, we are seeking innovative and experienced teaching artists who specialize in visual and/or media arts.
There are also several other ways artists and teaching artists may become involved with OneWorld Classrooms.
At the session, they will:
- Provide detailed information and answer questions about teaching artist residency opportunities with OneWorld Classrooms
- Distribute teaching artist application forms (if you bring your resume, you may complete and submit the application at the session; or you may submit it later)
- Display select pieces of Boston 140 global student art
- Discuss OWC volunteer opportunities and our ‘Artists for Global Art’ initiative
